12-26 mm. Southern and Central European species. In Hungary recorded from several locations in Transdanubia. Larvae feed under the bark of living wood of a range of broad-leaved trees, in the mediterranean particularly fig (Ficus carica). They move into the heartwood to pupate. Adults hide during the day and become active at dusk.
